If there’s one thing we love the most about camping, it’s sitting by the campfire and enjoying S’mores. There’s just something about the combination of graham crackers, gooey marshmallows and melted chocolate that fulfills my sweet tooth every time!
However, we don’t make S’mores consistently enough — leaving our chocolate and marshmallows stale more often than not. It’s kind of a pain to replenish our ingredients every time as we end up each having 1-2 S’mores and then tossing the rest. So when Tuck-ins asked us if we wanted to test and review their S’mores, I said YES! Their S’mores are created differently than the traditional version. Tuck-ins are a roastable, Inside-Out S’more™ on a stick, with a handmade graham cracker and rich milk chocolate, all inside a fluffy marshmallow. Doesn’t that sound SO good? We received five to try and decided to share these amongst our friends at Paradise Shores.
We gathered around the campfire and dolled out the treats to the kids, with us parents sharing our own. Just like roasting a marshmallow over an open flame, you put the Tuck-ins on the provided wooden extender (safety first!) and let the campfire caramelize your inside-out S’mores.
We received all three flavors and had a good time taking bites out of each! Tuck-ins are available in Classic S’more, Cookies & Cream and Peanut Butter Cup flavors. For those of you with dietary restrictions, Tuck-Ins also offers a gluten-free and vegan option for the traditional S’more.
Some of us like our marshmallows burnt to a crisp, while others like it perfectly toasted and gooey. Regardless of how you like your S’mores, it didn’t take long for the treat to bubble up. That first bite though — OMG. It’s SO good! You’ll want to eat it fairly quickly, because ours fell apart after a few bites.
For our taste test, everyone agreed that the marshmallow outside is perfect. About half of us really loved the entire S’more, whereas others wished that the graham cracker would be more crunchy (the consistency is more like a graham cookie). We also wished that the chocolate was a bit more prominent. Everyone enjoyed the traditional flavor the best, although my peanut-butter lover Levi and I totally loved the PB cup flavor. It tastes like a Reese’s peanut butter cup in the middle!
Overall, we enjoyed the taste of Tuck-ins and the novelty of gathering by the fire to try something new. These are available in five-packs for $20 and 10-packs for $40, as well as bigger bundles—20 for $70, 40 for $135 and 60 for $195. While the price tag of $4 per stick seems high compared to $8-10 bucks for the traditional ingredients, it’s a fun treat to share with others. I can see this being a fantastic addition to a camping-themed gift basket for the holidays!
