Yep, you read that right. As of right now, we’re in our van making our way across the border to Baja California, Mexico! ???
Steven and I started talking about our dream destinations late last Fall, and Baja kept creeping up to the top of our list. We thought, How wild would it be if we spent a couple months exploring this beautiful peninsula of Mexico?
Shortly after making the big decision to go for it in the New Year, the founders of The Van Life app announced that they were kicking off a Baja to Alaska Tour at the end of January through July. We couldn’t believe the timing! Not to mention that we were considering a road trip up through Oregon, Washington, Canada and Alaska around the same timeframe. The thought of meeting up with other van-lifers on such an incredible route sealed the deal for us. ?
We’re looking forward to seeing one of our favorite countries through the windshield of our home on wheels. Our plan is to give ourselves ample time to experience this incredible culture, catch some of the whales migrating along the coast, camp right on the beach and eat our fair share of tacos. All. The. Tacos! ???
While our itinerary is fairly loose, we plan to make stops in Ensenada, El Rosario, Bahía de los Angeles, San Ignacio, Guerrero Negro, Mulegé, Bahía Concepción, Loreto, La Paz, Todos Santos and Los Cabos. We’re all very excited for this epic road trip!
Cell service is likely going to be spotty, but we’ll do our best to stay connected (especially on Instagram and Facebook) as much as possible.
