National Public Lands Day NPS
National Parks

Free Admission to ALL National Parks on National Public Lands Day!

Did you know that the fourth Saturday of September is Public Lands Day? This is the nation’s biggest annual celebration of the great outdoors, and to honor it, the National Park Service is providing FREE ADMISSION to ALL national parks. Score!

Established by the National Environmental Foundation in 1994, this day is designed to encourage environmental stewardship and the use of public lands for recreation, education, inspiration and general health and wellness. We could all use a bit of that these days!

There are a few ways to participate in National Public Lands Day. Whatever you choose to do, please be sure to #RecreateResponsibly.

  • Share your favorite outdoor activity on social media channels with the hashtag #NPLD#NPSVolunteer, and #FindYourPark! This is a good way to bookmark national parks and trails that you’d like to visit in the future.

Can’t make a trip out to celebrate? No worries. Get your America the Beautiful National Park Pass here. After four visits to any national park, the pass pays for itself! ?
