Let’s get real – besides the gorgeous views and incredible culture, the thing we were looking forward to the most in Baja California was the food. Tacos, ceviche, cervesa... You name it, we wanted to try it. So of course, a lot of our Baja “research” centered on the best places to eat. And what better place to start than in Ensenada. Campground Review: La Jolla Beach Camp in Ensenada, Mexico
Our third campground in Ensenada came at the recommendation of some fellow van lifers: La Jolla Beach Camp. It was on the southern end of Ensenada, close to La Bufadora, the second largest marine geyser in the world. Near the campground, the low tide revealed an opportunity to dig up a natural hot springs – right there on the beach! It sounded perfect.

Baja California, Mexico! What a place to be. Our first week in Baja was concentrated in the port city of Ensenada, about two hours south of the San Diego/Tijuana border. Campground Review: Playa Saldamando in Baja California
Camping in Baja, Mexico is certainly a first for us, but luckily there are many resources on where to stay in the area. The best by far is the Traveler's Guide to Camping Mexico's Baja by Church & Church. The book gives you a rundown on everything you need to know about each region, as well as many recommended campgrounds and RV parks throughout Baja California.
