Ever since Steven and I decided to spend the latter part of winter in Baja, Mexico, Todos Santos has been on our radar. A vibrant community grounded in art and culture, it stood out to us as a key destination that we simply needed to explore!
Campground Review: Campestre Maranatha in La Paz, Baja California Sur
Hands down, we all agreed that this was one of the nicest campgrounds in all of Baja! It's easy to see as you drive in. Primarily used as a Christian campground and the base for Maranatha Ministries, the property is used by local churches, schools, and families for many different activities. It's HUGE! The entire campground is seven acres, with plenty of spots for RV hookups and dry camping. The grounds are meticulously maintained, which is impressive given its size.
Agua Verde is the Perfect Destination for Adventure Seekers
The road to Agua Verde... how can I sufficiently explain this wild adventure?! If you're itching to disconnect and you've got the right vehicle, you'll for sure want to check out Baja’s not-so-best kept secret: a pristine, hard-to-reach beach with bright green water.

Soak in the Oasis of Mulegé, Baja’s Colorful Colonial Town
Mulegé, a quiet little oasis in Baja Sur, is the perfect place to call home for a few days after soaking in San Ignacio. It’s a charming little town that attracts a lot of expats, snowbirds and travelers, as well as an ideal stop to regroup and resupply before heading to a beautiful beach area called Bahiá Concepíon.
Campground Review: Ecoturismo Kuyimá in Laguna de San Ignacio
In Baja California Sur, Laguna de San Ignacio is a key destination for many – it’s a prime location for spotting gray whales during their winter migration. Every year, these incredible creatures travel more than 10,000 miles between their summer feeding grounds in the Arctic and the coastal lagoons of the southern Baja peninsula. When we decided to van life down Baja, we were excited to realize that our timing would sync up with the chance to see gray whales in the wild!
Whale-Watching & Tortugas in San Ignacio, Baja Sur!
San Ignacio is a sleepy little colonial town nestled in a date palm oasis. We arrived at the downtown plaza after driving 4.5 hours from Bahiá de Los Ángeles. This small area is surrounded by beautiful old buildings with pops of color. Immediately you can tell that there’s something different about San Ignacio in comparison to the other Baja towns we’ve seen.

If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxed vibe where you can disconnect and enjoy the picturesque views, then Bahiá de Los Ángeles is for you.
Campground Review: Las Palapa RV Camp, San Felipe, Baja California
There are lots of places to camp in San Felipe, many of which are along the beach. Some are better known for accommodating large RVs, and some for the social scene. We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice, chill campground that was perfect for small RVs and vans – Las Palapa RV Camp.
Exploring San Felipe, the Gateway to the Sea of Cortez
Towards the end of our second week in Baja California, Mexico, we were ready to leave the Pacific side and see what the Sea of Cortez had to offer. After a three-hour drive, our first destination on the Eastern side of Baja was San Felipe.
