Campground Review: Campestre Maranatha in La Paz, Baja California Sur
Hands down, we all agreed that this was one of the nicest campgrounds in all of Baja! It's easy to see as you drive in. Primarily used as a Christian campground and the base for Maranatha Ministries, the property is used by local churches, schools, and families for many different activities. It's HUGE! The entire campground is seven acres, with plenty of spots for RV hookups and dry camping. The grounds are meticulously maintained, which is impressive given its size.
Van Life Gear Review: Venture Wipes
Here’s a truth bomb for ya... we take showers 1-2 a week! ? Yeah, yeah. Save the judgement until you decided to go live and travel in a van! ? While it’s not ideal for everyone, it’s the trade-off we make in order to seek out the most beautiful places to camp off-grid. Campground Review: Glamping Ruta de Arte y Vino in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja Mexico
There are a few well-known areas to camp within Valle de Guadalupe, and Glamping de Arte y Vino is one of these. We came into the area in the late afternoon after running errands in Ensenada, so we immediately headed for a campsite. Glamping de Arte y Vino was the closest to us and sounded promising.
Campground Review: La Jolla Beach Camp in Ensenada, Mexico
Our third campground in Ensenada came at the recommendation of some fellow van lifers: La Jolla Beach Camp. It was on the southern end of Ensenada, close to La Bufadora, the second largest marine geyser in the world. Near the campground, the low tide revealed an opportunity to dig up a natural hot springs – right there on the beach! It sounded perfect.
Campground Review: Playa Saldamando in Baja California
Camping in Baja, Mexico is certainly a first for us, but luckily there are many resources on where to stay in the area. The best by far is the Traveler's Guide to Camping Mexico's Baja by Church & Church. The book gives you a rundown on everything you need to know about each region, as well as many recommended campgrounds and RV parks throughout Baja California. Our plan was to find a location near Ensenada for our first stay. As we drove along Hwy 1, we marveled at the most gorgeous scenic views. Fortunately for us, these panoramic views are home to Playa Saldamando, a primitive campground that faces the…
Celebrating 10 Years of Marriage in Sedona, AZ!
Ever since a dear friend of ours told me about the mystical, magical place called Sedona, I've been compelled to visit this beautiful red sandstone canyon. So when Steven and I were batting around ideas for our 10-year anniversary celebration, I casually threw out the idea of a van life road trip to Sedona, just the two of us.
How We Converted Our Van into the Ultimate Camping Vehicle
When Alexis and I first decided that we wanted to travel full-time with our family, we weren’t exactly sure how we were going to go about it. There was a lot to consider, but we knew for sure we wanted to be as mobile as possible and spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors.
